Older Houses, Bigger Trees, And Systems That Show It

Green Hills is one of the older parts of Nashville still doing most of its living in its original houses. A lot of what we work on here went in decades ago and has been added to two or three times since — a sunroom off the back, a bathroom in what used to be a closet, a kitchen that got moved. Every one of those changes leaves a mark on the plumbing, the ductwork and the panel.

That is a different job from working on a ten-year-old subdivision, and it is why we send the same crews back into this neighbourhood rather than whoever is nearest. Knowing that the supply lines on Golf Club Lane are probably galvanized, that the ducts in a 1940s brick house are almost certainly too small, and that a 100-amp panel cannot take a car charger without a conversation first, saves everybody a wasted visit.

  • Heating and cooling — repair, replacement, tune-ups and ductless for rooms with no duct
  • Plumbing — drains, water heaters, leaks, sewer lines and repiping older supply
  • Electrical — panels, rewiring, generators, EV chargers and surge protection
  • One company for all three, so nobody blames the other trade for what you are hearing
  • Flat-rate pricing you approve before any work starts

What We Get Called About

What Green Hills Homes Actually Call Us For

Across a year in this neighbourhood, the same handful of problems come up again and again — and most of them trace back to the age of the house rather than bad luck.

  • A slow or repeatedly blocked drain, usually further down the line than the fixture
  • Water pressure that has quietly dropped off over years rather than failed overnight
  • One room the central system has never been able to keep comfortable
  • A panel with no spare breaker space and a project that needs one
  • Water heaters well past their expected life in a basement or utility closet
  • Two or three trades needed for one renovation, and nobody coordinating them
The pressure one catches people out. In houses of this vintage a gradual pressure drop is usually not the city main — it is galvanized supply pipe narrowing from the inside over decades. It never fails dramatically, so it gets accepted as normal until somebody measures it.

Real Local Details For Green Hills, TN

What our crews actually deal with in Green Hills, street by street, rather than generic Nashville filler.

Estes Road, Woodmont Boulevard & Golf Club Lane

This is the heart of the old housing stock — brick homes from the 1930s through the 1950s, most of them added to at least once. Three things follow from that age almost every time: galvanized supply pipe that has narrowed from the inside, cast-iron drain lines with joints that roots find, and ductwork sized for a much smaller cooling load than anyone runs today. None of it is a fault, exactly. It is just what a house of that vintage is, and it is worth knowing before you are quoted on it.

The Hillsboro Pike Corridor & The Mall At Green Hills

Along the pike the buildings change completely — mid-century apartment buildings, newer condo blocks and townhomes, with equipment in closets, on balconies or on the roof rather than in a side yard. That changes the work in practical ways: shared drain stacks mean a blockage is often not yours alone, access has to be arranged rather than assumed, and we plan arrival windows around the fact that Hillsboro Pike at five o'clock is not a road you cross casually.

Granny White Pike, Lipscomb & Toward Crieve Hall

South of the shopping district the houses get a little younger and sit mostly on crawlspaces, with post-war ranches and 1960s brick homes. Two things define the work here. The tree canopy is genuinely old, and mature hardwood roots are the most common cause of a repeat sewer blockage we find in this part of town. And that same canopy shades whole elevations, which changes a cooling load enough that sizing a replacement system off the old unit's badge gets it wrong.

Meet The Owners

Your Trusted Local Home Services Team In Green Hills

Airstream Services was built on a simple idea — treat people the way you would want your own family treated. We are local and family-owned, and the name on the van is the name of the people who answer for the work.

Our team is not here to push a quick fix or an upsell nobody asked for. We explain what we found, lay out the options in plain language, and let you decide. That is why so much of our work in Green Hills comes from repeat customers and the neighbours they send us.

At the end of the day this company is about more than service calls. It is about being the people you can call when something in your home stops working and you need a straight answer.

FAQ

Green Hills Questions, Answered

Straight answers on service area, pricing, older houses, condos and getting more than one trade in the same week.

Green Hills specifically, and it is one of the neighbourhoods we are in most. Our office is on Burton Hills Boulevard, so 37215 is a short run for us, and the same crews come back rather than whoever happens to be free.
Yes, and in a house of this age it is the main reason to use us. When a problem sits between two trades — a leak near a panel, a bathroom addition that needs all three — you get one company answering for it instead of three contractors each pointing at the other two.
Flat rate, quoted before any work begins. There is a diagnostic fee to find the actual cause, and you are told that up front. Once we know what is wrong you get a number in writing, and it does not change part-way through. Financing is available on larger jobs.
It is the norm here rather than a problem, but it does change the work. Galvanized supply pipe, cast-iron drains and undersized ductwork are all normal for that vintage, and all three affect what a repair or replacement actually involves. We would rather explain that on the first visit than discover it half-way through.
Yes. The main differences are access and shared systems — drain stacks and sometimes water heaters are common to more than one unit, so we establish what is yours and what belongs to the building before quoting. Getting that wrong is how people end up paying for somebody else's blockage.
Often, if we know in advance. Tell whoever takes the call that there is a plumbing job and an electrical job and we will try to schedule them together. Some combinations genuinely need two visits, and we will say which when we book it rather than after.
Yes — no heat, no cooling in serious heat, an active leak, or an electrical fault that is not safe to leave. Call rather than book online for those, so it gets routed properly instead of into tomorrow's schedule.
